Metropolitan is a National Leader in Providing Safe Drinking Water
Water Quality Report

Metropolitan's recently released Annual Water Quality Report provides a summary of water quality and monitoring data for 2019. The report outlines Metropolitan's sources of water supply, what is in the drinking water and whether any constituents exceed the maximum state and federal set contaminant levels. Metropolitan tests supplies for almost 400 constituents and performs nearly 250,000 water quality tests annually on samples gathered throughout its vast distribution system. Read the report. More Than 100 Students Participate in Virtual
Solar Cup

Solar Cup

For the first time in 17 years, Solar Cup went virtual. Metropolitan collaborated with staff from Occidental College, Strategic Energy Innovations and Southern California Edison on an online program dubbed Solar Cup 2.0. From April to mid-May students worked on 12 challenges ranging from electric circuits and batteries to creating a marina for electric boats. More than 100 students participated in the online program, with many turning in creative and insightful submissions, including the one pictured of a solar boat powered by lemons, as imagined by students from Los Altos Academy of Engineering.

July 16 Virtual Tour of Advanced Purification Center

Earlier this month, Metropolitan staff provided the first virtual tour of the Regional Recycled Water Advanced Purification Center. More than 100 participants, ranging from school-aged children to technical experts, joined the tour. New Director Joins Metropolitan's Board

KightlingerGlendale City Councilmember Ardy Kassakhian joined Metropolitan's Board of Directors this month as the city's representative. A Glendale resident since 1986, Kassakhian served as elected city clerk for 15 years before his successful city council bid in March. Read the press release.
