The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California

addition to our ongoing CONNECT 2 MET Series:

“Reflections On Leadership: Women’s Business Conference”

Thursday, July 23, 2009
8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Fifth Floor (Grand Avenue Entrance)

A feature of the conference will be panel discussions with
Women Leaders in the Water Industry and Southern California Business.

The panels will provide insight on leadership and offer advice, guidance, and encouragement to a new generation of business owners.

Workshops include:

“Surviving the Down Economy”

“Building a Solid Company Infrastructure,”

“Marketing Using Social Media: TWITTER, YouTube, and Blogging,”

“Today’s Trends: Micro-Businesses, Micro-Loans and Macro Profits.”

In addition, the Conference will provide businesses with access to multiple government agencies and resource partners, create business to business networking opportunities, and encourage businesses to participate in Metropolitan’s Water Conservation Programs.

There is NO COST to attendees. Continental breakfast and lunch are included.

Business Builders Network

Metropolitan has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with several public agencies. If you are certified as a small business with Metropolitan, your certification will be recognized with our partners, the Los Angeles Unified School District, City of San Diego, San Diego County Water Authority, Los Angeles Community College District and the Port of Long Beach

In addition, Metropolitan has also signed MOUs with the Small Business Development Center, the California Community College Economic & Workforce Development Program and the Minority Business Development Agency to provide technical assistance and access to capital for small businesses.
