Metropolitan: A Snapshot

Spring Green Expo
In April 2016, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California hosted the 9th annual Spring Green Expo, an educational event featuring more than 60 exhibits of sustainable products and services by students, business, conservation groups and public agencies.

Metropolitan promotes and practices environmental sustainability. From paper waste and outdoor landscaping to company cars and energy use, Metropolitan is committed to using finite resources in a wise and responsible manner with a view toward long-range viability and compatibility with the environment. Metropolitan embraces technologies and practices that will help achieve long-term sustainability and responsible use of our natural resources to help improve the environment and protect habitat. ​

Community Events
Metropolitan Water District, 700 North Alameda St. Los Angeles
This event, which is open to all and free to attend, is an opportunity for Metropolitan, along with other agencies, businesses, conservation organizations, and the educational community to highlight their role as the innovators and providers of environmentally-friendly programs, products and services that save water and promote sustainability.
Lake Skinner
Solar Cup is a high school education program in which teams of students from throughout Southern California build and race solar-powered boats. The seven-month program culminates in a three-day competition at Lake Skinner, in Temecula Valley. Through the program, students learn about conservation of natural resources, electrical and mechanical engineering, problem solving and much more.​
Anaheim Convention Center
The California Construction Expo is a 2-day exposition that is attended by over 1,500 industry professionals seeking to build relationships and receive the opportunity to work with the state’s leading government agencies.
