Water industry affiliations:
Edwards is currently the general manager of the Anaheim Public Utilities Department. Appointed to her city position in January 2001, she oversees Anaheim's water and power utilities with a customer base exceeding 340,000 people and a service territory of about 50 square miles.
Prior to joining the city, Edwards served in a variety of management positions for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power for nearly 25 years. She was assistant general manager over the department's marketing and customer service business units.
Professional and community activities:
Edwards is Vice President of the Southern California Public Power Authority, past president of the Board of Governor's of the California Municipal Utilities Association, and a past regional Board member for the American Public Power Association. She also serves as a Board member on the Anaheim Chamber, the Orange County Taxpayers Assocation, and is past president of the Board of the Anaheim Community Foundation.
Edwards is a past member of the governing board of the California Independent System Operator and a past chairperson of the Southern California Utility Power Pool. She also served as interim chief executive officer of the California ISO during the summer of 2004.
