Water industry affiliations:
Assistant General Manager-Water Services of Glendale Water & Power, Kavounas has served as the city’s representative on Metropolitan’s board since March 2009.  Prior to joining Glendale in 2004, he worked for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power for 17 years, where he managed the department’s Eastern Sierra environmental group.  Kavounas serves on the board of directors of the Castaic Lake Water Agency.  He is also a member of the Association of California Water Agencies, the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies and the American Water Works Association.
