Water industry affiliations:

Koopman has served on the Inland Empire Utilities Agency’s board since December 1998. He serves as vice chairman of the Chino Basin Watermaster’s agricultural pool, where he has been a member since 1978.

Professional and community activities:

An Ontario dairyman, Koopman is a 38-year member of the Milk Producers Council, where he has served as chairman of the board for 10 years.

He also is a founding board member of the Western States Dairy Producers Association and a member and past director of the Southern California Farm Credit Association. In 1995, the Ontario City Council appointed Koopman to the Agricultural Preserve Advisory Committee, with a mission to prepare a master plan amendment for the 8,000-acre preserve.

In 1993, he was named the Chino Chamber of Commerce's "Outstanding Dairyperson of the Year."
