The Procurement Advantage:
Becoming More Successful in the Government Market

This series will prepare business owners to be successful in the public sector market. Our goal is not to teach business owners how to operate their business, but to provide strategies that if applied can result in success in the public sector market. The purpose of this course is to provide you with a general understanding of the procurement process used by the Metropolitan Water District. We will also show how small businesses might market their goods and services to the government.

The objectives of this course are to:

  • Describe procurement vehicles available to help small businesses work with the local government

  • Learn about procurement strategies; · Describe the appropriate marketing steps required to work with government agencies for procurement contracts; and

  • Find additional resources to learn more about the procurement process
