2005 water quality report tables
  • Metropolitan’s water supplies again met all of the
    state and federal requirements for safe drinking
    water in 2007.


  • Metropolitan monitors for more than 120 required
    constituents and draws more than 50,000 samples
    a year to perform more than 320,000 quality tests
    to safeguard our drinking water.

  • Metropolitan’s water quality laboratory is one of
    the most advanced and sophisticated in the nation.

  • In late 2007, Metropolitan joined a majority of the
    nation’s water utilities in adding fluoride to the
    drinking water supply at levels considered optimal
    by the American Dental Association and national
    public health agencies.

  • In February 2008, Metropolitan’s drinking water
    tied for first place in an international water tasting
    competition held annually in the historic town of
    Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.
