Come one! Come all to the greatest employee picnic celebration ever. Be the first on your block to fish at Diamond Valley Lake, the jewel of California lakes.

Come on join the fun.

Not only will this year’s picnic be the best ever, it will be a historic one—Metropolitan celebrates its 75th anniversary and the picnic heralds the pre-opening of Diamond Valley Lake.

You'll definitely want to save Friday evening, Sept. 19, and Saturday, Sept. 20, for this year’s employee picnic. It’s the chance of a lifetime to get on California’s premiere lake and help in the “test run” in preparation for the public opening. An opportunity like this doesn’t come around that often.

Camp, fish, boat. It’s on the house. Camp out near the Visitor’s Center Friday night. Bring your camper or tent and your dinner, breakfast and drinking water. There will be group campfire activities Friday night. Wake up early Saturday and try your luck at a little catch-and-release fishing on what some are calling California’s premiere fishing lake. Even the boats at the marina that are normally rented will be available at no cost to employees or you can bring your own, but please make sure to get your boat’s engine inspected before you show up that weekend and use only MTBE-free fuel. See our Web site for dates and locations of the boat inspection sites. Those who fish must have a current fishing license, which can be purchased that day from the concessionaire.

The picnic fun begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, and lasts until 4 p.m. Pontoon boat tours of the lake will be offered every 30 minutes beginning at 10 a.m. Other activities include the children’s fishing tournament, a volleyball tournament, games and physical activities for the kids, music and numerous activities for the whole family. And don’t forget the hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken and all the standard picnic fare.

Join the celebration. We look forward to seeing you there.
