Goodbye, Grass
Inspiring SoCal to embrace water-saving gardens
A new water conservation advertising campaign is reaching out to Southern Californians where they live, work and play to help foster a continued conservation ethic and promote a sustainable, water-efficient lifestyle.
Metropolitan’s new Goodbye Grass campaign focuses on the most significant way for residents and businesses to save water – replacing their grass with California Friendly® and native plants instead.
New Water Year
New Water Year
Same Commitment to Reliability
Securing the water we need for Southern California is a monumental responsibility – one that takes careful planning and strategic decisions. Tracking the rain and snowmelt over the water year (Oct. 1 to Sept. 30) helps us in this effort.
We kicked off the 2025 water year on Oct. 1 in great shape, with enough water in storage to support the region when drought conditions return.
Future of Reuse
The Future of Regional Water Reuse:
Pure Water Southern California
Now is an exciting time for recycled water programs across California. In December 2023, after nearly a decade of careful planning and review, with input from scientists and public health experts, the state released new direct potable reuse regulations that now permit the purification of recycled water for direct use in our drinking water systems. This has big implications for our Pure Water Southern California Program.
